Intramurals provide an opportunity for students, staff and faculty members to participate in fun, competitive activities on campus. All participants must have a valid Bates ID in order to participate.

Philosophy. The philosophy of intramurals is to provide competitive activities for those who do not have the opportunity to participate on the varsity, junior varsity, and intercollegiate club teams. The number of students who are members of the varsity or junior varsity and intercollegiate club programs at Bates may be restricted on IM league rosters.

Leagues.  Leagues run for several weeks during the Fall, Winter, and Short Term semesters.

Sample League offerings include:

Fall: Outdoor Soccer [competitive and recreational], 3 v. 3 Basketball [coed], Volleyball [coed], Tennis.

Winter: Indoor Soccer [competitive and recreational], Basketball [coed and men's league], Ice Hockey [coed], and Broomball [coed].

Short Term: Coed Flag Football and Softball, Volleyball

Registration.     All league/team registration will be done on-line through the IMleagues website. Announcements regarding registration dates and deadlines will be made via Bates email and The Bates Daily.

Rules.     Individual league sport rules are listed on their respective league homepages.

For all leagues, a maximum of two varsity/club players - of that sport- may be on the playing surface at the same time.

Schedules / Results. Please see individual league pages for details.
