The Towson University Intramural Sports Program features a diverse selection of sports and tournaments. Each one of the Intramural offerings is played either in Burdick Hall or on Burdick Field and features offerings in Men’s, Women’s and/or Co-Rec Leagues. You can click HERE to find instructions on registering for IMLeagues, creating a team, joining a team, or signing up as a free agent. New information for league structure and tournaments can be found below.
Leagues – All league sports are broken into four or six team divisions and each division will play on the same day and time for a four week regular season (Ex: Division: M1 Monday 7p, each of the teams would play every Monday at 7pm for four weeks in a row). All teams who finish in the top half of their division and have at least a 3.0 sportsmanship average will be entered into a single elimination playoff at the end of the regular season. The selection for spots in the playoff bracket will take place during a Playoff Meeting the day following the end of the regular season. Each eligible team is required to send their Captain or a representative to that meeting in order to be placed in the bracket.
Divisions - Most Men's and CoRec Leagues will now be featuring Competitive and Recreational Divisions. Competitive divisions are geared toward experienced participants who are looking for more challenging game play. Recreational divisions are geared towards participants who playing with a ‘just for fun’ mentality. All Varsity Athletes must always compete in the Competitive Division, and club athletes participating in their associated sport must also compete in the Competitive Division. Restrictions of the number of club athletes participating in associated sports still applies
Tournaments – Tournaments will be one day single elimination brackets featuring up to eight teams. Tournaments will be offered in either Men’s or Co-Rec based on the sport.
