How do I register for Intramurals?
  1. Get a group of people together to start a team.
  2. Each person individually logs in to IMLeagues (imleagues.com/svsu) using their SVSU email.  Even if you have not participated in Intramurals before, do not create an account. Simply log in.
  3. Create or join a team on IMLeagues. Created teams must be made by registration deadline.
  4. Pay the entry fee by the registration deadline at the Campus Recreation Center Office or online at online.
  5. The captain must complete the mandatory online captain’s meeting and quiz. If a team captain fails to complete the meeting, your team will not be eligible for playoffs.
  6. Schedules will be released by the weekend before the start of the season.
  7. Don’t have a team? Sign up as a “free agent” on IMLeagues. Teams can select from this pool if they still need players. You may also:
  • Check imLeagues.com for teams that are looking for players. “Still Looking” will show up beneath their team name on IMLeagues.
  • Alternatively, you can attempt to join a team without a full roster anytime during the first three weeks of the season by contacting team captains directly through IMLeagues’ message system.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding registration, contact Campus Recreation at 989.964.7321 or email campusrec@svsu.edu.

(e.g. A varsity basketball player is not eligible to participate in intramural basketball, but is eligible for any other sports.)

How many former varsity/club sport athletes can I have on my intramural team?

Each team is limited to a maximum of two current club sport members, two former varsity athletes, OR one current club sport member and one former varsity athlete for a parallel sport (e.g. A intramural team may have one club soccer player and one former varsity soccer player. A former varsity football player would not count as a varsity athlete if they are on the roster for a intramural soccer team).

May a player be on more than one team in a league?

No. A player is only eligible to play on one team per league. However, a player may participate on multiple teams as long as the leagues are different.  For example, a player is allowed to participate on one Coed team while participating in a Men's or Women's league. A player may also participate on a power division as well as a rec division.

Campus Recreation is not responsible for time conflicts that may result or will not take any extra actions to help participants who decide to play in multiple divisions.

What is the difference between a default and a forfeit?

A default occurs when a team captain contacts the Intramural Coordinator at least 8 hours in advance to inform them that their team will be unable to attend their contest. The game is recorded as a loss but no further action takes place.

A forfeit occurs when a team does not have the minimum number of players present and legally signed in at game time (or by five minutes past scheduled game time in some cases). In this case, the game is forfeited and the team receives a loss. If a team forfeits a game they will no longer be qualified for playoffs.
