Can varsity athletes participate in Intramurals?

Varsity athletes are welcome to participate in Intramurals, they just cannot particpate in their sport or sports closely related to their sport.  For example anyone on the intercollegiate roster for basketball could not play in 3v3 or 5v5 basketball but could play all other sports or another example would be that baseball could not play softball or wiffleball but could play all other sports.

What is the policy on rescheduling games for Intramurals?

Unless we have to shift something based on things happening on our end there will be no rescheduling of gmaes after they are published and initial changes have been made by the professional staff.  Teams may reach out to captains of the team they are facing and other captains in the league to see if they can swap their game time with another game time.  All four captains must agree to this for it to occur.

What is the policy on forfeiting a game?

If a team forfeits a game but gives advance notice they will receive a sportsmanship score of 3.5.  After 3 forfeits even with advance notice a team can be removed from the sport by professional staff.

If a team forfeits/no shows without letting the staff know in advance they will receive a sportsmanship of 2.5.  After 2 forfeits without warning, the team can be removed from that sport by professional staff.

At the completion of a regular season, a team must have an average of 3.5 or higher to be considered elligible for playoffs regardless of their record or standing.  Any team rating below this average will be considered ineligible to compete in the playoffs.

How does a ladder tournament work?

Teams utilize IMLeagues to challenge each other and agree upon date and time to play.  After the game is over the winning team records the score and sends it to the Intramural staff via IMLeagues for verification.

How does a single day tournament work?

These are events typically done over a couple of hours depending on the amount of teams that sign-up and how many playing surfaces we have available.  Sometimes these can be done over a couple of days or on a specific night of the week but over a couple of weeks.  These events are single or double elimination so not every team will get the chance to play each other.

How does a league work?

Leagues are a longer format in that it is on a certain night or nights and typically will go a month to a month and a half in lenght plus playoffs.  We try to get as many teams to face each other as possible during the regular season.
