What are intramural sports?

Intramurals are extracurricular activities (sports), which are offered through the Kress Events Center.  They are a great way to get involved in our campus community, meet new people and stay in shape all while enjoying a game you love.  We offer team, dual and single sports.  If you are able to win a championship, we give away free shirts to the winning teams of their respective sports.  If you have a group of friends you can make a team, if you are looking to join a team that is ok too.  We have “free agent” pools for teams to select additional players from.

Through intramurals we hope to build a love of physical activity, friendship, and enjoy your time on the court or field.  There is a sport offered that will fit you as a person.  We encourage you to try a few and see what you enjoy.  Sign up now and see what the Kress Events Center and UW-GB intramurals has to offer!

What sports are offered each semester/block?

UW-GB offers a variety of intramural sports.  We believe that there is a sport out there for everyone.  Each semester is broken down into two blocks of intramurals.  Each block UW-GB offers different sports.  The most popular sports are run in multiple blocks during the academic year.  To check availability and what sports are being played during a block visit http://www.imleagues.com/Default.aspx for more details.

How many teams can I play on?

You are allowed to participate in as many intramurals as you want, but there are a few restrictions.  If you are playing in a sport that has different levels (i.e. A league, B league or Co-Rec) you are able to choose either the A or B league but not both.  You would also still be eligible to participate in the CO-Rec league too.  You can play in multiple sports during the same block baring they do not conflict time wise with each other.  We encourage participants to enjoy and play as many sports as possible.

How do I sign up a team?

UW-GB has gone to the online signup format, using http://www.imleagues.com/Default.aspx.  It is a simple process.  First you must make an IMLeagues account, using an email, university name and a few other simple tasks.  Then you will be able to view what sports are available during the current block.  Simply find the sport you wish to participate in and select Register/Signup.  The rest of your team will need to create accounts on IMLeagues too so you can add them to your roster.  Don’t forget to attend the MANDITORY captains meetings!

How/when/where can I add/delete players?

Captains are able to add or delete players through their account on IMLeagues.  Participants can also be added prior to a game by filling out of an “add sheet.”  Participants can be added or deleted all the way up to the final day of the regular season.  No participants can be added after the regular season is completed, unless there is a special circumstance (injury).

What if I don’t have a team?

That is no problem! IMLeagues has an area for “free agents” to sign up for a particular sport.  Once you have signed up, the pre-existing teams can check the “free agents” area and add you to their roster.  You will get a confirmation email stating that you have been added.  Keep in close contact with IMLeagues and or your captain to make all games on time.

Where do I get my team schedule?

All game times and locations will be posted on IMLeagues, and on the UW-GB intramural board in the Kress Events Center just outside of the West Gym.  If a change occurs you will receive an email or text from IMLeagues.  Keep an eye on UW-GB’s intramural Facebook (UW-Green Bay Intramurals) and Twitter (@UWGBIntramurals) for pertinent information.

What is sportsmanship rating?

This is a rating of how well behaved the participants were during the game.  Arguing, yelling, swearing, etc… towards other participants, officials or score keepers will not be allowed and will be reflected in your sportsmanship rating.  It is on a scale from 1-5, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best.  Teams need to have a minimum of a 3.5 sportsmanship rating in order to be eligible for the playoffs.  Please be on your best behavior.
