I have registered my team for a sport, what is my next step?

After registration, you will be sent Captain's Instructions with important information and deadlines for your upcoming event.  Failure to meet all prescribed deadlines may result in being dropped from the event.

What happens if my team forfeits a contest?

The captain of the team will be charged a $10 Forfeit Fine that must be paid in room 103 of the ASRFC.  If games remain on the team's schedule, the captain will have three (3) business days to pay this fine in order for the team to remain in the league.  If this fine is not paid within three (3) days, the team will be dropped and the captain will become ineligible from participating in any Intramural Sports event until this fine is paid.

If no games remain on the team's schedule, the Forfeit  Fine will still be assessed and the captain will become ineligible from participation in any Intramural Sports event until this fine is paid.

If a team forfeits a second time in the same league, that team will automatically be dropped.

What if I know my team will not be able to play a contest?

A team may default a contest if they know that they will not be able to field enough players to play in their game.  In order for a team to default, the captain must contact our office (imsports@mail.ku.edu) by 12:00pm the day of the game if playing Monday - Friday.

Defaults for a Saturday or Sunday game must be received by 12:00pm on the Friday preceding the game.

Captains who submit their default by this deadline will not be charged the $10 Forfeit Fine.

What happens if I am ejected from an Intramural Sports contest?

Contest participants or spectators who choose to follow unsportsmanlike practices before, during, or after a contest, whether directed toward an opponent, an official, a spectator, or an Intramural Sports staff member may be ejected from the contest.  A participant or spectator ejected from a contest must leave the playing site immediately after providing their contact information.  The ejected individual will be suspended from all Intramural Sports events until officially reinstated by the Intramural Sports Director.

It is the ejected participant's responsibility to set up a reinstatement meeting with the Intramural Sports Director, or designee, within 48 hours.  If a meeting is not set up within 48 hours, the ejected participant will be withheld from participating in any Recreation Services program or utilizing any Recreation Services facility.
