Who is eligible to participate in Intramural Sports?
|
All participants must be current students, faculty, or staff of Ashland University. This includes:
undergraduate, graduate, seminary, CON, part-time, and post secondary students.

What is a recognized default?
|
A default is when a team or individual notifies the Recreational Services Department of a schedule conflict where they cannot play a scheduled game. Teams or individuals must notify the department by 3 p.m. on the day of the scheduled game. In the case of weekend games, teams must notify the department by 3 p.m. on Friday. Forfeit fees are not charded to teams or individuals in the case of recognized defaults.

Do I have to pay to play?
|
There are no fees associated with Intramural Sport participation at AU. A forfeit fee will apply in league play only. If a team forfeits once, a $10 forfeit fee is applied. Captains are responsible for submitting the $10 to the Recreational Services office.

What is a forfeit?
|
A forfeit is declared when a team or individual fails to appear or is not prepared to begin play at the end of the grace period for that sport. A $10 forfeit fee is applied to teams or individuals during league play for the first forfeit. The second time a team forfeits, they are dropped from the league.

What if as the team captain I cannot make it to the MANDATORY captains meeting?
|
Team captains are responsible for attending all mandatory meetings including the captions meeting before play begins and the playoff meeting. If the team captain cannot be present at one of the meetings he or she should send a team member as a representative in their place. Captains are responsible for relaying all information (rules, schedule, etc.) to their team members.
