What do I need to do to play an Intramural sport?
|
Sign a team roster and bring your valid APSU ID card to each game. It's as simple as that.

What if I can't find a team?
|
Anyone who wants to play but can't find a team can sign up as a free agent and the Intramural staff will find a team for you to play with!

How much does it cost to play?
|
Prices vary, but most team sports are $30 per team. Individual sports are typically $5 per person and Dual events are $10 per team.

|
The rules for each sport can be found under the Handbooks & Manuals link on the left-hand side of this page. They are also posted on www.apsu.edu/recreation under Intramurals.

Where can I find a schedule of my games?
|
Schedules will be posted on this website under the Game Schedule link on the left-hand side of this page. Schedules are also posted on the Intramural board at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center.

Where are the games played?
|
University Recreation has several playing surfaces. All outdoor sports are played on the Intramural field located on the corner of Drane and Marion. All indoor sports are played at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center located beside the tennis courts on Marion Street. All aquatic events are held in the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center pool.

When will I know if my game has been cancelled due to weather?
|
All decisions about game cancellations will be made by 3:00 p.m. of that day. Students can find out if their game has been cancelled by calling the Intramural Office after 3:00 p.m. They can also check online at any of these locations: APSU UREC Intramural's facebook page, IMleagues.com under Announcements, or on APSU UREC Intramural's Twitter account.

How can I get the most up to date Intramural information?
|
All participants can receive text messages about game cancellations by entering a valid cell phone number on their profile on IMleagues.com. Participants can also receive information about forfeits, scores and more by following Intramurals on Twitter @APSU_IM or friend Intramurals on Facebook.

How can I contact the Intramural office?
|

Who is eligible to participate in Intramural events?
|
All students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate in any Intramural event. APSU Alumni can participate in any Individual/Dual event and may participate in a team event on a case-by-case basis.

Can I play if I was a college athlete last year?
|
Participants who were college athletes may play a related sport one year after they last participated on the collegiate level and will be considered Past Varsity Scholarship players. However, each roster in that sport may only contain one Past Varsity Scholarship player. There is no exception to this rule.

Can I play if I was a professional athlete?
|
Any professional athlete, a player who received money to play a sport, must wait one year after last participating in that sport to play in a related sport. There is no restriction on a former professional athlete playing a non-related sport.

What are the Captain's meetings?
|
Captain's meetings are held for every team sport and some Individual/Dual sports. They are information meetings that are held in the Foy Center, Room 202. At the meeting players will get schedules and an overview of the rules for that sport. Free agents can be picked up here if you need more players.

Are Captain's meetings mandatory?
|
Yes a player from each team must be present at the Captain's meeting. If a team fails to send a representative, a $15 fee will be assessed to the captain and a hold placed on their account until it is payed.

When are the deadlines for each sport?
|
The deadline for a sport is usually one week before play begins. Deadlines for each sport can be found at IMleagues.com, apsu.edu/recreation and in the Intramural brochures at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center.

What if my team can't play when they are scheduled?
|
If you know your team cannot play in a scheduled game, we ask that you give the Intramural staff 24 hours notice so that we can try to adjust as needed. If you cancel with less than 24 hours to your game, we cannot guarantee that your game will be made up. If your game cannot be made you or you don't give 24 hours notice, you will be assessed a $15 forfeit fee. That fee must be payed before your team plays your next game.

What if my team forfeits twice?
|
If you know your team forfeits two games in one season, your team will be removed from the schedule and cannot rejoin until both forfeit fees have been paid. Once the fees have been payed, the captain must meet with Intramural staff to determine if their team can rejoin the league.

What do I get if I win?
|
Teams that win get a Intramural Championship T-Shirt, their team name on the Wall of Champions, and bragging rights until next year!

What is the Governor's League?
|
The Governor's League is a point system based on participation, sportsmanship, forfeits and post-season performance. There is no cost to enter a team into the Governor's League and the Intramural Staff will keep up with all points. A team must only maintain 60% of its original roster and 60% of its original team name.

What do I get if my team wins the Governor's League?
|
The team that wins the Governor's League at the end of the semester will receive a free pizza party and their name on the Wall of Champions.
