What is the Sportsmanship Rating (SR) System?

The sportsmanship rating system serves to assess a team’s attitude and behavior throughout the regular season and postseason. Actions and behaviors before, during, and after the contest are included in a team’s sportsmanship score. Actions and behaviors of both the team's participants and the team's fans are included in a team's sportsmanship score.

The SR System directly affects postseason eligibility and advancement in the postseason tournament. An average SR of "3" is required for postseason elibility, and an average SR of "2.5" is requried for advancement in the postseason tournament.

For more information, please view the TTU Intramural Handbook.

What is a default?

A default is an unplayed game without penalty (e.g. being dropped from the league or being assessed a fee).

To receive a default, the team captain or representative must notify the Intramural Sports Office by 2:00 PM on the day of the contest.

In order to verify that the request is legitimate, the team captain or representative must notify the Intramural Sports Office via e-mail or in person. Phone calls will not be accepted.

Two defaults will result in one forfeiture.

What is a forfeit?

A forfeit is failing to field a team for an intramural contest without contacting the Intramural Sports Office.

Teams may be assessed a $40.00 fee for each forfeit. The team captain will have a hold placed on his/her eagle online account until the fee is paid.

If a team forfeits its first game of the season, that team may be dropped from the league and replaced with a team on the waiting list.

A single forfeiture renders a team ineligible for the playoffs.

A second forfeiture may result in being dropped from the league.
